Yeah they beat Wagner, Bucknell, Monmouth, and Longwood while playing bad basketball only because we are so much more talented then those four. Do you honestly think that if we play the same way vs. Penn St. on Friday that we beat them? They`d beat us by 20+.

Who knows, maybe SJU will see PSU as a worthy opponent and decide to finally play good basketball, and as a SJU who couldn`t wait for this season to begin (as I was saying this is the most talented team since the Artest, who by the way was business like vs any team.), I hope that the case. It will be their first game in a big arena as well, the pentagon only seated 3,000 I believe.

We`ll find out in 2 nights, which isn`t to long of a wait.

Hopefully its just sju playing down to their competition but I've seen a few of their games now and the offense looks horrible.

It looks exactly the same as last year so far, which actually makes it worse.

The bashing of Lavin really has no basis at this point. Let's do this again-

Year 1 : SJU tied for third in BE. NCAA bid, number 3 recruiting class, final AP rank of 18, beat six top twenty teams, attendance rises 30%. Keep in mind this done with team that made one NIT appearance and one CBI appearance and lost both openers. Dwight Hardy first team all big east and all American honorable mention. Justin Burrell big east sixth man award.

Year 2: did not coach and did not attend practices. Moe Harkless drafted 15th and is first Big East Rookie of the year since the early 1980's.

Year 3: with no upper class men, STJ makes NIT and wins first round game. Winning season overall. JaKaar Sampson Big East Rookie of the year. This is lavins first year with this group.

If he couldn't coach, year one would never have happened. If you say it was due to Dunlap, he was the coach in year two. So before you start calling for Lavin's head and claiming he can't coach, etc., his record thus far does not support the argument. This team is not playing to its potential, but we are five games in. We have won every game we are supposed to and lost to a very good Wisconsin team that sits at #10. I am critical of this team, I've been a season tix holder for years ans want to see a good team. But to go off on Lavin right now is a little silly.

You sound like a redmen.com kool-aid drinker. Had to leave that site because it was so creepy. It's a bunch of old men who know everything about each other's lives and worship at the altar of Lavin. They never admit anything wrong with the program and sleep better pretending we are in the year 1985 again. It's been so refreshing to see so many people agreeing with me on here once I left that awful site. It just goes to show what a cult that other site is where if you are critical in the least, they will attack you endlessly.

All I can say is, save my post. Because the writing is on the wall. He can recruit, but not coach. He doesn't know how to find basketball players. Fordham's Jon Severe is averaging 21 PPG and shooting nearly 40% from 3 as a freshmen. We recruited him. On redmen.com I begged to get him. I said his shooting prowess was exactly what we needed. Everyone laughed at me. They don't want to admit it, but I told everyone so. Lavin is gone within a few years of miserable failure.
