It is surprising that the Friars will be playing URI...AND Brown! Back in the day they wouldn't have played either. When did the change in thinking occur? Just curious. I spent 2 years at NavSta Newport, RI back in the seventies.

Great place, Naval Station Newport, on Narragansett Bay. I think jet915 said he spent time there too. If you were there during the 70's, you might've been on hand for an America's Cup competition... used to be every 3 years... 1971, 1974, 1977... Ted Turner captained the winning yacht in 1977 and I think 1974 too... Australia beat us in 1983 by using a (probably) illegal "winged" keel, the cheaters!!!

PC has always played both Brown and URI each year. Actually, back in the 70's and earlier, the Friars played each of them twice a year. They stopped doing this in around 1980, but there's never been a year that these three teams haven't played each other (Brown and URI always play each year too).

Oh really? This whole narrative is just tired and old. If you've (the fanbase/school) moved on then why keep pounding this drum about being promised a game and blah blah blah

the staff was depending on a home Gavitt game against a top tier Big 10 school. They gave the Big East office more than a years notice of their open dates, and were essentially told they were "good to go". When they were passed over after being virtually guaranteed a game(lots of speculation as to why)

Next season, Xavier will play road games at Baylor, Cincinnati, and Colorado while hosting Wake Forest, Utah, and Northern Iowa at the Cintas Center. X also will play three games in the Puerto Rico Shootout.

That's a combined nine non-conference games against quality competition before the Musketeers face a single Big East opponent.

Has it dawned on you yet that you are the ONLY fan on this board not associated with Xavier that keeps grinding on what truly is not a big deal? The vast majority of Xavier fans have moved beyond this outcome.

The only narrative that is tired and old is your narrative.

Okay then why are X fans still posting about being promised a Gavitt game? If ti's not that big of a deal then why does it keep popping up?

Help a midwest guy out. I'm sure it's a region. What is a New England state school?

Your 4th grade teacher is going to be upset with you! New England consists of 6 states, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Connecticut. PC plays all the U of "insert new England state" schools
