Xavier needed a home and home that started at X and involved one of the other Puerto Rico tournament teams so that it could be considered a non-bracketed game in that event and not count against their overall game limit. UNI was willing. That freed up room for the Baylor road game to toughen up their schedule.

Just adding to anxufans post, the staff was depending on a home Gavitt game against a top tier Big 10 school. They gave the Big East office more than a years notice of their open dates, and were essentially told they were "good to go". When they were passed over after being virtually guaranteed a game(lots of speculation as to why), let's just say the athletic department was less than enthused. The coach responsible for scheduing was put in a near impossible situation as he needed to add two quality home games and an away game. This late in the game, that's asking the near impossible. He was able to put together @Baylor (H&H), UNI (H&H), and Utah (H&H) in a little over three weeks. Lets just say the man deserves major kudos. UNI would not be the usual type of team we would seek a H&H with (desperate times), but they are a quality team, and I'm more than happy to play there next year. As it turns out, this has the potential to be a better schedule than if we were to have been "awarded" the Gavittt game. Time will tell.

Let it go guys. Just let it go.

Oh really? This whole narrative is just tired and old. If you've (the fanbase/school) moved on then why keep pounding this drum about being promised a game and blah blah blah
