You misunderstand.....They have pushed the other metrics to the side......I personally think it is bull.....and has Big 5 conference manipulation written all over it.....

Think about it......Especially this year......

We are in a down year......

So when we get to conference.....and we all know how hard it is to win on the road in the Big East.....

If we have lets say 5 Quad 2 teams.....and the Quad 1 teams lose to them on the road......That will risk the amount of conference bids to the NCAA.....

Dare I say......We could be "manipulated" down to 3 bids.....

Throwing it out there......I personally think putting a system in place without testing it for a number a years on something that for all accounts was'nt broken.....

This smacks of the ACC wanting like 12 to 14 teams in the tourney.....There I said it!

I do agree that the powers that be will do anything in their possibility to ensure that no at-large bids go to mid-major conferences... But I think the Big East is in good shape. It will be hard to play that game against the Big East, at least for the time being. Big East programs have strong reputation and win too much to be left out in the cold. At the very least, the PAC12 and SEC will take a bigger hit before we do!

At a bare minimum we should get 5 bids this year. The conference this year still has better numbers relative to everyone else than it had back in 2013-14!

I'm not concerned about that. In our five years, I can't think of one team unfairly left out of the tournament. Last year we even got two 1 seeds. The selection process has always been secret, if anything now it may be more transparent with NET.

Uhhhhhmmm Marquette was already a "Power" team before the new conference, if it wasn't for the coach taking 5 years to finally create something, bad hire in hindsight. Anyways the "Power" teams are really Nova, Georgetown, Marquette, and maybe Xavier and Butler for thier recent success and maybe St. John's and DePaul if you take all time stats. But I would just include Nova, Georgetown, Marquette for thier consistent success through the decades.

Both SEC and BIG12 had 13 win teams win their respective conferences last year. That isn't an issue gtmo.

I think it's a tough break for Marquette that they don't see Nova until February. If JQ can provide 20+ minutes of solid PG play by then, I'd argue Nova's ceiling is up there with Marquette's.

We currently have 7 teams in the top 55 for kenpom and 7 in the top 60 for Sagarin. That is a good nonconference result. As we all know, none of our teams is in the top 10, but Marquette and Nova are trending up! NET not out yet, but don't they also use kenpom and Sagarin for the tournament or am I mistaken?
