Suffice it to say that St John’s can beat anyone in the country. Anywhere. :o

In fact they have!

Congrats johnnies. Both St Johns and Georgetown seem to be trending in the right direction which only makes the Big East a better league.

Way to go Johnnies, 28 point jump in RPI to 68. Nova unchanged at 2.

Odd thing about the boxscore of the Johnnies/Nova game: 13 guys played. 6 for St. John. 7 for Nova. Not good long term.

Yeah, not good for long term wear and tear. Nova down 2 starters hurts. I’m almost resigned to not caring if they win or lose now; just don’t want Brunson, Bridges, DiV, & Spellman to be spent come March. Play the kids Jay and when you get Booth and Paschall back, prep for the tourney.

Undoubtedly a good opp for X to take the reg season crown from us this year.
Go Nova!

Seriously.

I just posted this on our board:

I could see how the style they play could appeal to talented kids who want to play that kind of gambling on defense, beating your man on offense, showing off a bit, somewhat unstructured. Street ball, but against the best comp, in the Big Apple, with a Dream Teamer, NBA HOFer, a gunner's gunner from Brooklyn as your coach.

If he can impose some structure, and get his guys to make better decisions in tight games, he might eventually get so much talent that even if Mullin doesn't know an X from a O, St. John's could rise - "guys, go play basketball". Could be fun.

Great game, again for SJU.
