Because not only is that dubious, the difference between 3 and 7 is just too small to assume a large accumulation of wins for anyone in that group, among the group. (and that's 40% of their games)

When you are going to go (more or less) .500 in 40% of your games, you don't have to be awesome at algebra to see that you are going have difficulty reaching 667% overall.

The point is, you don't have to dominate OOC to still get a good seed.

Yep. Esp in a conf like the BE.

Let's say that SHU ends up losing to both TT and L'ville. OK, 3 non-conf losses against good competition. Now they go 13-5 in conference and beat Nova, X, CU and PC. They certainly have the talent to be near the top this year. I think 23-8 or something like 24-9 in a conference like the BE gets you a 5-6 easy. Knock them both off and go 12-6 and you are a 4 at worst IMO. That record would be eerily similar to what Butler did last year. Creighton had 9 conf losses last year and were still a 6 seed.

Also not sure why Edrick is hating on the Hall so much. They're 5-1. They looked better vs. Indiana than Duke did last night. Not saying they are better than Duke but that they have the talent to beat anyone on any given night.

Butler had a great OOC last year. 5 wins vs NCAA tourney teams. 4 neutral/away. And a win vs Indiana. Butler had the #4 OOC SOS last year. THAT is why they were a 4 seed. Seton Hall though if they lose these next 2, won't have that. Seton Hall quite probably won't have a single OOC win vs NCAA tourney teams. That's a HUGE difference.

To get a good seed, you really have to have both a good to great OOC and a good to great conference season.

I would say part of the Indiana comparison- Seton Hall game was at Seton Hall, while Duke game was at Indiana. That makes a difference. Also, I would say that it probably was a bit of a hangover for Duke after the PK80 tourney.

but lets say like you say not much of a gap between 3-7....
vs 1-2- go 1-3
vs 4-7- go 6-2
vs 8-10- go 5-1

or 1-3, 5-3, 6-0.

and I think quite frankly- there's a pretty big seperation realistically between SH, Creighton, and maybe Providence- and then Butler, Marquette, and St John's. Just based on what I've seen so far.

Awful first half by the Pirates. They've been horribly outworked. 2nd to every loose ball, dominated on the boards, and can't make a damn free through.

Too much selfish and sloppy play from such a veteran team. Need to clean it up.
Unfortunately a lot of Seton Hall's strength is out hustling and athleting people and Texas Tech is doing that to Seton Hall.

Agreed, but some unusually hot 3pt shooting has kept them in the game. Normally I feel like the Pirates do everything well except shoot the ball. Today, free throws aside, shooting is the only thing they've done well.
