I'd probably give Gottlieb a pass on this...if he was calling Nova or X beating them an upset, well that would be particularly stupid. But...we aren't predicted to be THAT much better than NC State so I yawn and move on.

Every once in a while, these talking heads have to say stuff to get folks talking. If they say the "expected" verse all the time, they don't have a radio show. If you say stupid shit every time you open your mouth, they call you Skip Bayless. But I digress...

People are reacting to the fact that he considers Creighton beating NC State an upset. Most would have that reversed.

I think you just made the case for this thread. it is to CASUAL fans. Gottlieb is a so-called expert. He should know better.

But who is he writing the column for? Experts or casual fans.

Yes. But there would be the laments that "Of course Gottleib picks an ACC school over a BE school!!" I think the article is motly harmless especially considering how biased Gottlieb normally is. I think we take a compliment, even if a touch back-handed. Any way you slice it he focused on a BE team beating an ACC team. Nothing wrong with that IMO.
