Damn it!!! The same mistake again. Keep giving a win to Butler on Sat. in part of my head but then disconnect and have them finish 9-9. All these records are starting to blend together, for the last couple of hours have been looking at records and schedules doing tiebreaker scenarios of the BE, A-10, and AAC. Time to take a break.

lol....

re the AAC, just fyi, I'm fully expecting Memphis, Houston, and SMU to win tonight, to mess with that conference as much as possible. It's great for conference play, but terrible for the tourney hopes....

Per ESPN 'Bubble Watch' as of March 1, Conference of Americans has yet to put a team in either the "lock" or "should be in" categories.

All home teams too, if I'm seeing things correctly. I think UConn is pretty well set at the moment but everyone else should watch their step.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I think if PC beats St John's, Creighton beats Xavier, and Butler beats Marquette... All 3 would finish 10-8.....
PC 3-1 in mini
Creighton 2-2 in mini
Butler 1-3 in mini

I thought PC swept Creighton? Wouldn't it be:

PC 4-0 in mini
Butler 1-3 in mini
Creighton 1-3 in mini

So PC gets 4th and Butler/Creighton move on to 2nd tiebreaker. They split with each other, each got swept by Nova, and in this scenario would have each split with X, so Butler would get 5th by way of their sweep of Seton Hall.

Or am I missing something?

actually- Creighton would have gone 2-0 vs Xavier and Butler was 0-2 vs Xavier- so Creighton 5, Butler 6.

Ellenson is questionable for Saturday. No brace or crutches for him. Guessing he's going to play.

As long as there's something to play for and he won't make it worse, he'll play.

Marquette can finish no worse than 7th, and depending on how Saturday goes, as high as 4th. Even getting to 6th would save the team a pigtail game at the Garden. For MU to finish 4th...

Step 1: Marquette beats Butler to go to 9-9, which also drops Butler to 9-9.
Step 2: Creighton loses at #5 Xavier to fall to 9-9.
Step 3: Providence loses in an upset at St. John's to fall to 9-9.

If all three games fall that way, there will be a four-way tie for 4th between Marquette, Creighton, Butler, and Providence, which MU would win because of its 5-1 record vs. Creighton, Butler, and Providence.
Al McGuire: "What is this?"
Waiter: "Mr. McGuire, that is a cull lobster. Sometimes when the lobsters are in the tank, they fight. This one lost a claw."
Al McGuire: "Well then take this one away and bring me the winner."

actually, Marquette can finish 8th. A Marquette loss and a Georgetown win and Marquette is 8th...
