Forgot about DSR. If Georgetown continues to play like they all actually do have a pulse then he could be a factor.

How would you rank the best bigs in the Big East, if Ochefu isn't near the top?

He may be hanging around the top, but it also helps that he is the only frontcourt option that Nova has and gets every touch available in the paint. Just of the top of my head, Bentil is higher, both of Xavier's bigs (definitely Farr, maybe Reynolds), Delgado from Seton Hall would be up there if not higher, Henry Ellenson would definitely be above him, and even Hayes from Georgetown puts up comparable numbers. Ochefu has been a solid and serviceable big for Villanova, but I don't think he has warranted that much respect.

Let me just say that I don't think Nova has anyone with exceptional individual talent. I think they are all good players and play well together, but I don't see anyone on Villanova I would consider the best player in the conference or really even that close to it. That happens though and is not a knock on Villanova overall. It often happens that the best player does not reside on the best team. Ben Simmons on LSU is a good example in the current year. I don't think anyone will be challenging him for SEC POY, but LSU is probably not the best team in the conference.

Farr has better stats and only plays 21 mins a game.

Ochefu plays 22 minutes a game, so it's not like the minutes make a difference. Ochefu also has a great defensive rating on the most efficient defensive team in the conference.

That said, Ochefu has struggled the last few games, so you can make a case for Farr as being at that level. But other than Bentil, I don't see any other bigs in the league that you can make a case for as being better than Ochefu.

I can't see how Bentil isn't ahead of every big man....

Player of the week in the conference twice

1st in scoring by a ton...

5th in rebounding...Chef has 1 more rebound in 4th

9th in FT % on by far the most attempts in the league

13th in block shots

2nd in offensive rebounds

8th in defensive rebounds

Not sure how KenPom does it but I'll take Big Ben over any other big man

James Farr is a man among boys, probably a better pure center than anyone in the conference.

Does BE have a newcomer of the year in addition to freshman of the year? If there is a newcomer award, I think Mo Watson at CU has to be in the top two. Leads the league in assists, and all you have to do is watch how he took over the second half of the CU - Butler game Saturday night to see how important this guy is to the team. CU would be struggling to stay out of the cellar without him on the floor.

Bentil, Farr, Fischer, Ellenson all produce more than Ochefu and there are about 3 others (Reynolds, Martin, Groselle, Delgado) that put up comparable stats. I'd say he's a fairly average big man by league standards and maybe even above average defensively, but I definitely don't think he's anywhere near the 5th best player in the country. Surely even Villanova fans would admit that
