At this point in the season all I have to go by is an eye test. I have watched all 3 teams and Nova is the most complete team. Ochefu has improved. Arch has mid range game now. Brunson plays like a junior. The whole team plays hard on defense and share the ball on offense.

Xavier has a real chance to dethrone nova. Reynolds can dominate. Really impressed with Sumner but also pleasantly surprised with Davis showing good pg skills. The two sophomore wings look more confident and matured.

I was real high on Butler but this last game exposed serious flaw. Will their perimeter d hold up? Maybe I underestimated loss of Barlow.

Well I am happy you agree that X should be on top today. Yes, I have watched Villanova play mid-majors. As I said, win a game against a power opponent and we can talk again.

Last year is last year. Do UCLA, Kansas, Indiana, Kentucky and North Carolina get elevated rankings because of their NCAA Titles? Nope. My list is based on November, 2015 games.

So according to your logic Butler and X should also be ranked ahead of Iowa St, Oklahoma, Arizona and Gonzaga. Got it.

And do you think that since Mizzou is in the SEC that they are a good team? They are terrible.

And if "last yr is last year" how do you rationalize Butler ahead of Nova or SJU even. They lost to Miami and beat a very average Temple team.

So X jumps ahead of Nova by beating a borderline Top 25 team who also lost at home last year to NJIT? OK, you're right Nova is clearly proven they are not on the level of BU and X by winning each game by 19+. And after all they don't have much of a history of performance in this new conference. I mean winning the conf by 4 games last year must have been a fluke.
Go Nova!

Gumby,

I think it's great that people are putting X on par with Nova, but I'm just hoping they can avoid crapping the bed in a holiday tournament for once.

1. Villanova - Top Dogs until proven otherwise
2. Xavier - have looked very solid; still some work that needs to be done but looking like legit contenders to Nova at this point
3. Butler - guaranteed Top 4 finish, butler will be butler
4. Georgetown - inexcusable loss to Radford, but could've/should've been wins versus Maryland & Duke have me much more optimistic
5. Providence - zero losses, but not sure the ceiling goes beyond 4/5 this year
6. Seton Hall - only loss to Long Beach State; best of the Bottom 5 at this point, in my opinion
7. Creighton - right there with Seton Hall; haven't beaten anyone but a loss to IU isn't unexpected
8. Marquette - embarrassing start, but a nice win versus a very talented LSU squad. Let's hope we see more of that type of play from Wojo and Marquette going forward. The league needs MU to perform better than #8 in the conference
9. St. John's - squeaking wins out against mediocre (at best) competition. Got boat raced by Vandy. With the embarrassing exhibition loss (MASSACRE) to a D2 school, they are most likely fighting with DePaul to not finish last in the Big East. I expect that to change in the next year or two under Mullin as head coach.
10. DePaul - As bad as it gets. Could be 0-5.Step it up, DePaul. Stop being a disgrace.

I agree Nova is #1 until they lose. FYI Butler's next opponent is Southern Illinois Universityat Edwardsville (SIUE)
