X, nova and Butler are the torch bearers this year in conference. Really important for all three of these teams to run wild in OOC play. Three elite teams this year.

That MU v CU scrimmage (22 pt margin according to BJB) was 3 weeks to a month ago...plenty of practices and 2 games in already in the RS. Mizzou is 2-0 and playing well.
Tigers are getting good contributions from several players and 3 Frosh (Puryear, Walton, and Phillips). JR. PG Wes Clarke is also playing well.

Not a cupcake team by any means.

The inference being if CU can beat them my 20, then X will bury them? Perhaps. Granted X was much better than CU last season, but this is a new season and many teams lost significant players - including Xavier. It is far too early to be crowning champions and ncaa teams. Xavier has a daunting non-conference schedule ahead. Let's just see what happens.

As for Novaball's "torchbearers"...I hope you have some backup torches (ala the Olympics)...as things could get rough out here in the non conference portion of the season. ;)

BJB reported that the MU insiders said 22. From our staff it was 30. I don't care how you cut it, Xavier should roll them.

Pretty much exactly how you'd expect DePaul to be doing.
