I don't wish anything bad on any school, I just hate the A-10 conference. Of course, being the second most disliked team in the league has something to do with that too.

Perhaps some of us have memories and perspective - - which is not to be taken as a dig to your response. Seriously, the long view of Xavier's time in the A10 has to be taken into consideration.
The C7 may look at it differently, but the A10 was a force when Xavier joined it. UMass was #1 in the nation that year. Chaney was still at Temple. It was a major step up for Xavier in the mid-90's, and Xavier earned its invite through performance. There was a time, before the Big East really got going with football expansion, that the A10 was pulling closer to the Big East in performance.
Overall, the A10 treated Xavier well as Xavier held up its end of the bargain for the A10. As things evolved beyond 2000, Xavier saw the need to become stronger and sustain success, in the belief that it would eventually get its chance. There was a time after our first E8, continuing with subsequent trips to the S16, combined with receiving the Forbes ranking, that I could only shake my head at the notion that people would pigeon-hole basketball programs based upon football affiliations, but it was what it was.
Nonetheless, Xavier was able to demonstrate its value to the C7 through what was accomplished in the A10. I'll always be grateful to the A10 for such a mutually beneficial relationship, as I would remember a mutually beneficial business relationship that fell by the wayside for whatever reason.

This post sums up most of my feelings regrading the A-10. The only problem was the bottom feeders. The top teams competed well. Good luck to your Billikens this year!
