Seton Hall played like a team that plays in a tournament a couple of times a generation and Gonzaga played like one that plays in them every year.

Great, gutty win by Providence. Seton Hall was abjectly embarrassing. Maybe the altitude, maybe Gonzaga, but that was a horrendous exhibition...and I was cheering hard for the Hall.

Whitehead disgusted me last night. Talk about a black hole? The ball went to him and never, ever came back out. That wasn't what he did in the BE Tourney. He got Carrington, Rodriguez and Delgado all involved in NY and last night the ball was superglued to Whitehead's hands.

It almost looked to me that Whitehead just decided to make last night his personal NBA audition, rather than trying to help his team advance. One of the most selfish exhibitions I've ever seen in an NCAA tournament. My old Xavier Roomie is a New Jersey guy and a Hall season ticket holder. We were texting back and forth and he agrees wholeheartedly that Whitehead reverted back to January...at his team's deep expense. Too bad.

I definitely got tired of watching Whitehead driving to the basket all night and getting his shots blocked. He did seem to be trying to do the job all on his own. The team ball that I saw throughout the tournament seemed to disappear yesterday.

Seton Hall just came out flat. The 11pm start really sucked, especially playing a western team. I haven't thought this through, but for a young team (younger than Gonzaga certainly), it's probably better to play early afternoon games. That way you don't sit around all day with nervous energy. Sorry to see the Hall out of it. They should be ranked pre-season next year.

Anyway, Gonzaga is a great team. I'd much rather lose to them than some giant obnoxious school. Would love to have them in the Big East.

The Providence game, wow, my 13 year old and i jumped up and hit the ceiling. Relief in finally getting a tourney win... previous one in 97 i hadn't even met my wife yet, seems like a lifetime ago. Crazy final minute, thought i was going to have a coronary. Still can't believe they got that lay up... wow...

As of this minute, New England teams are 4-0.

 :D

9-24 good thing they didn't take that last three pointer
