We have this discussion every year. Fans of the original BE teams think it's the tournament that holds the most prestige, fans of the newer schools feel otherwise. If you ask UConn fans or Cuse Fans or Pitt fans they will surely agree it's the BET all the way and it's not even close. Most of UConn fans could probably not even tell you when they won the "regular season crown" Cuse and Pitt would be the same.

Don't care much what Syracuse or Pitt fans (does Pitt actually still have fans??) say but I am pretty sure I read a comment on this board by a Villanova fan suggesting they hoped Nova didn't even get to the championship game this year because he wanted his team to get the added rest. That hardly seems like the BET is very important to that fan.

And a PC fan making fun of anyone's mascot is amusing.

The NCAA Tournament committee publicly stated Providence would not have gotten into the 2014 NCAA tournament without winning the BE Tournament. Nice try though. Love how an automatic bid is now considered "meaningless." Clown.

The automatic bid isn't meaningless, and neither is the BET in general, but if you win the regular season championship, you don't care about getting the auto-bid. You only care about seeding.
