2019-20 Predictions

The home for Big East hoops

I'm a homer like everyone else on this board, but Xavier as a 11 seed is a complete joke. Xavier finished fourth in the league last year with no depth and a first year coaching staff. They return their top 4 scorers, a first team all MAC starter in transfer Jason Carter, and 2 time MAC defensive team in grad transfer Bryce Moore. Not to mention a top 20 recruiting class with four 4 star guys. However they are in the play in game in Lunardi's bracket. I see Xavier challenging to win the Big East.

Bryce Moore is gonna surprise a lot of people. Got a little overlooked in the grad transfer sweepstakes because of an injury, but he's gonna be really valuable. Physically, he's a big east level guy and he seems to be tough as nails. He played all year on a misdiagnosed acl tear two years ago in the MAC and not only that but shot 40% from three and was named to the All-Defensive team in the MAC... on a freaking torn ACL! I'm really excited to see what he does.

I mean, pretty good chance that doesn't happen if he doesn't get injured

What logic are you using to draw this conclusion?

The alleged assault happened in the early morning hours of Feb 4, 2017; Creighton had a home game against Xavier that day. He, presumably, would have been with the basketball team and not at an off campus party on game day (there were no other members of the basketball team at the party).

It was not an “alleged” assault, because he did plead guilty to assault although the plea deal allowed him to not have to register as a sex offender which was the key piece for him. However, because the assault occurred on another student he was expelled from the University.

Well, the assault for which he was charged with rape was alleged, since the accuser had an ever changing story and was not forthright with police/prosecutors about her previous relationship with Watson or her activities that evening. Charges against Watson in that alleged assault were dropped.

Watson ended up pleaded guilty to touching a different girl's leg that night, who ultimately "fended off" his advances. This was simple assault, not sexual assault, so he did not have to register as a sex offender.

So yes, it was alleged. I have no inside knowledge; that's what was published in the OWH.

Even better - he assaulted two female students that night. One “allegedly” and one that he plead guilty to.

Thoughts?

Personally I agree with him although I think he’s underselling seton halls secondary scoring options with Myles Cale, mamu, and McKnight

The pre-season top-15 predictions may be a bit too high, but I have a hard time picking any non-Nova Big East school ahead of them right now. They return just about everyone and add a potential game-changer in Obiagu.

At the same time, we didn’t lose much either and are adding two good grad transfers and a top 25 recruiting class
