Xavier was. They got screwed, because now last minute they have to find a worthwhile home opponent. Xavier's non-conference SOS is going to probably take a hit from this.

If Xavier had been told months ago that theven schedule didn't work out for them, it would have been fine.

FWIW, I hear UD has a posted on basketballtravelers.com looking for a high major opponent to begin a home and home series. Just sayin...

0% chance of that happening.

Wonder given Creighton is playing Wisconsin if the fact that Wisconsin and Xavier played had something to do with it.

No. It's the fact that the top of the Big 10 doesn't want to play the top of the Big East on the road.

possible. that's why when everyone here was gushing at the homer that this was that I was like no, it's more like a solid double. With the dates, there was NO chance that Nova or Xavier could play Michigan St.

I'm in the minority, but I wish it would happen.

100 times more exciting than playing Wright St, Miami, NKU, etc.

Really? Not a homer? Because X got left out a year because of a preseason tourny? A game at the begining of the year against a P5 opponent and the sheer fact that the B1G has signed the deal letting the rest of the college world know we are on the same level as them. It's a homer pessimistic stever

it's a solid double because the top teams from the Big Ten are ducking games. It's not like the Big Ten/ACC challenge where teams like Michigan St, Wisconsin, etc play each year. And it sure appears like the Big Ten is trying to avoid top teams playing.

Also the timing of it sucks because Tuesday night basketball fans will be focused on the Champions Classic on ESPN. Then Thursday and it's NFL- plus all the exempt tournaments starting up.

Yeah I'm disappointed for Xavier, but I wouldn't cry about getting "screwed" out of this. Some of their fans may feel entitled to a home game vs. Michigan State in a very narrow window, but that's not how things work. It'll look fair for all teams involved when you look back 2022.

This misses the point. The league was telling Xavier they were getting a home game against one of the better Big 10 teams. Now they find out they aren't participating in the event when 98% of good teams have finalized their schedules outside of buy games. It is going to make it very hard for Xavier to find a quality opponent to play in Cintas at this stage. Had Xavier known about this 5 months ago they wouldn't be upset because there would be plenty of time to find another one.

Yeah, if only we could get Wisconsin to play some Big East team every year. Oh well, wishful thinking...
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
