Also, for the actual 8 games, it's projected 4-4.

Nova over Purdue
Georgetown over Maryland
Butler over Northwestern
DePaul over Rutgers
losses-

It's also intentional that Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio State each have only played once. It is what it is. The Big East needs the Gavitt Games more than the B1G does, and the B1G is simply protecting itself because it has more to lose in this arrangement than the Big East.
Michigan State already plays a gauntlet of a pre-B1G schedule, and the B1G won't throw out Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio State annually just to create exciting matchups. In a perfect world, we would never schedule Penn State, nor would we ever schedule Rutgers nor Nebraska. Northwestern is also a tough pill to swallow too, but at least they have improved the past few seasons under Collins. Minnesota has also struggled in recent years under little Pitino.
Personally, I am shocked that we got Maryland twice against Georgetown.
Bottom line, are we getting ideal matchups? No, but the Big East has a scheduling agreement with the B1G - and that in itself is a big asset. We just need to take care of business and win the series.
