Hopefully he is just under the radar because he is European. These are the type of players I hope the johnnies get. Euro style big perimeter players. They play mullin's type of game. A guy like Rawlie Alkins, the take 'em combo guard, isn't going to get as much from Mullin.

Freudenberg is rail thin. Might be a good idea to red shirt him so he bulks up and johnnies can get four good years out of him. Can't imagine he is an immediate impact player.

Fran Frachilla says he's a top 40 kid if he played in the states.

Alkins is just like Mullin a left handed gaurd. I'm sure he can learn a lot from Mullin. Both lefties from Brooklyn who play the same position.

We get either of them and we're a top 5/10 recruiting class nationally.

not to rain on anyone's parade

but fraschilla says that kind of stuff quite a bit about foreign kids

and - it's usually not correct

case in point - tai webster - who is not a very good basketball player but Fran said he's be a top 25 recruit if he was from the US

uhhhh - not even top 200 fran...

so - grain of salt with anything he says - and don't put too high of expectations on foreign kids

just like - my opinion, man...

Alkins is a right hander. Ponds is the lefty guard from Brooklyn.

unseen foreign kids

hard not to like a lot of the young johnnies and what the future holds for what's on the current roster

i just think that fraschilla has carved out a nice niche for himself as the CBB 'foreign recruiting guy' - mostly because no one else is doing it

and his track record ain't good

i'll assume SJU fans know about both his hoops acumen and talent eval skills better than anyone.

For anyone doubting how good he or this class is, this St. John's class is now ranked #17 by 247 AND that's not including LoVett who will be eligible next year.

Also #1 in the Big East.

If Alkins commits, we'll be ranked #2 nationally.

So far, Fran has been spot on with his predictions of Sima and Mussini so that's probably a lot of fans trust him. Funny how a few of you are trying so hard to keep SJU fans from getting excited. Have you seen the season we've had? Please no negativity
