If Creighton loses 2x(which is what's predicted), for them to play Seton Hall the only thing that needs to happen is Butler winning 2x. I mean, Butler is favored in both of those games. So I think folks would say it's actually more likely that Creighton would have to see PC, X, and SH rather than PC, X, and PC. PC's 2nd game is meaningless in the scenario(and it's vs St John's).

I think there is a good chance they could see PC 2x, but it's not the most likely chance. If Creighton loses both this week, I'd say it's about 40% chance they would play PC 2x and about a 60% chance they would see Seton Hall.

There are more scenarios that result in PC and Creighton finishing 4th and 5th than any other, so yes it's fair to say most likely. Creighton could lose to PC and beat Xavier and clinch no worse than 5th. They hold all tie breakers over Butler. Anyway I didn't even quote you with my initial post on this thread, I quoted Jet915 and it was meant as a keep up the faith post. Why you seem hell bent on turning it into a pissing contest over semantics puzzles me.

Here's the chances....
Creighton wins this week..... they are in the NIT and what we've been talking about is meaningless.....

Creighton goes 0-2 this week... If Butler beats both Seton Hall and Marquette, Creighton will play Seton Hall.

I think you're right- maybe the greatest chances overall for Creighton are to play PC 2x here. BUT- if Creighton goes 0-2, playing Seton Hall is more likely than playing PC a 2nd time. So in a way, we're both right :)

A correction now to the Creighton 0-2 scenario. If Butler beats just Seton Hall, with Creighton going 0-2, Creighton would be 6 seed playing Seton Hall. If Marquette beats Butler, it's a 3 way tie with Butler, Creighton, and Marquette. Marquette is 3-1, Creighton 2-2, and Butler 1-3. So Marquette would be 5 seed, Creighton 6, and Butler 7.

so saw before last night- Marquette and Creighton were both 5's in the projected NIT. So that would have them in the 17-20 range. With them ahead of between 12-14 teams. Both probably need 1 win to get in for sure.. Georgetown probably now out for the NIT quite frankly....

Agree, G'town is probably not getting an NIT bid unless they win a pair in the BEAST tourney. Still, it looks like we'll get 5 teams into the big dance, and 2 more to the NIT. Not too shabby, my friends!

The 2 to the NIT is extremely precarious. Creighton and Marquette were both 5's in the most recent NIT bracketology- as of Monday. That would mean they're ahead of 12-14 teams. Those 2 teams need to root for a lot of chalk in the conference tourneys so there aren't NIT bid thieves. I'd say Marquette probably ahead of Creighton.

actually it's just 1.. Bucknell....

Stetson has APR issues. They were allowed in the conference tourney..... If they beat Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday, North Florida would get the auto bid as the #1 seed. So Creighton and Marquette fans- you are huge Stetson fans right about now. Marquette actually if you remember played them in January!!!
