XU with an emphatic response just crushing Butler.

Looks like all of our Top 15 teams will stay up there, Butler shouldn't drop too much, Friars will move up... Seton Hall should be getting votes but prolly still need a bigger win.

I wouldn't be so sure about Butler. lost both and got crushed today. think they could be down to the 18-20 range quite possibly.

Not sure about Holtmann's coaching today. Starting Etherington? Next game v DPU is a must win for the Bulldogs. A loss would be devastating.

It won't happen, but I'm hoping that Butler isn't ranked next week. In the last 3 halves, they've gotten dumptrucked because their opponents were by far the more aggressive, tougher team on the court. I don't think there's a chance they beat Nova next weekend, and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them fall pretty hard during conference play. This league is loaded with quick aggressive guards who can finish in the lane, and Butler's biggest weakness is perimeter defense. I'd attack Lewis, Dunham and Martin every time down the court.

It seems that Butler needs to outshoot teams to win and that is a recipe for disaster in this conference. Lewis does not look like a Big East player and Dunham is a liability if he's not shooting well. I love watching Martin and Jones plat though.

Playing soft and missing shots will get you a loss every time in this league. X plays good D, but missed a whole lot of point blank layups today and that ain't the D. We better reach down and find some of the toughness we used to be know for or it's going to be a long season!

Butler is fine. They're the same team that just rolled thru non-conference against Purdue, etc. They have no injuries and Dunham went 3 for 5 from 3 yesterday so he's back. Teams don't go from F4 contender to suckitude, so relax. They remain a deep team that can go deep in the BE and NCAA's.

Two things happened... they lost a tight game against the #12 team, and they lost by double-digits at Xavier like it's happened to every other XU opponent... plus it was only a 5 point margin mid-2nd (57-52 I think).

X and Butler opened with 2 tough games. Then yesterday one of them had to lose.

Added thought:
- Generally, i think I'd try to reduce Tyler Lewis's minutes and let Jones run the point more.
- I'm a huge fan of the sophs Wideman and Martin. Both are legit.
- i like the idea of letting Dunham continue to shoot. "Go home with the guy that brung ya."

They only gave up 80 pts once in the non-conference and then did in both games in the BE.

These last two games have also been their lowest scoring games of the year.

Their OOC SOS is sitting at 212

It'll be interesting to see how they respond. If they don't beat DePaul on the road Tuesday, they are staring 0-4 in the face with @Nova next.
