Hart and Jenkins both Juniors. Cats have A LOT coming back next year. Booth and Omari Spellman (6'9", 5 star, Top 20 PF) step into the starting spots to replace Arch and Ochefu and then we have Paschall (A-10 Rookie of the Year transfer), Mikal Bridges, Donte D and Reynolds (who has been a surprisingly good backup for Ochefu this year) coming off the bench. Tim Delaney and Dylan Painter will add size.

Jay Wright has done a phenomenal job recruiting the right players. Starting with 2012 class, everyone he has brought in has contributed and gotten better over time. and no transfers.

Looks like size will no longer be an issue for Nova hopefully Brunson comes back for one more year.

I think a few years ago we had some McDonald's All-Americans on our team and still did not perform well and Jay won't let that happen again. Jay actually has backed off some very highly ranked recruits if he felt they would cause any issues, play "me first" basketball and use Villanova as an NBA tryout, have an entourage, have a parent who would make demands like their son needs to start, etc. Jay recruits specific types of players for his system. A lot of SJU guys asked why we didn't go harder after Rysheed Jordan, I told them numerous times Jay thought there might be some issues, they thought it was nonsense. I am hoping now they believe me.

Jay PREACHES "ATTITUDE!" It is something you can hear the team say coming out of huddles. He brings in kids who want to play Villanova basketball and he graduates his players. When I was at Villanova the basketball players were in class and that has not changed. All Nova has to do now is figure it out in March and the rest will be cream cheese. People need to remember though, even before we made the Final 4 in 2009, from 2005 until then we made a few sweet 16s and an Elite 8 and lost to the eventual National Champion several times (UNC twice, Florida and Kansas, then again to UConn in 2014). It hasn't always been early exits for Jay. I don't want to jinx anything but look for another strong recruiting class in 2017, we are in the mix with a lot of talent.

Mikal bridges is busting out.

Nova's half court offense still needs to get much better. Spread and chuck will be their downfall this spring.

Nova's defense is the best it has ever been under coach jay. That makes up for the horrible half court offense. But I do think they will get. Bit better flow offensively come the winter and it won't be so much spread and chuck.

Cats aren't slowing down either. Next yr they are going to have their most athletic team in the Jay wright era. No more ochefu, which will change up the look. Arch will be gone but the back court will be strong.

Good point about recruiting the right players. Ever since wayns and cheek jay has put the recruiting rankings aside and focused on kids who are the right fit. That's why nova passed on guys like rysheed Jordan and Isaiah briscoe and to a lesser extent rawlie Alkins.

Jays 2009 team didn't start a single top 50 recruit. Scottie Reynolds was a McDonald's aa, but was only ranked in the 50-75 range. Reggie redding and Shane Clark were borderline top 100. Dwayne Anderson and Dante Cunningham were 150+ recruits.

Last couple years teams were led by James bell and then darrun Hilliard. Bell was a borderline top 100 guy, and Hilliard was unranked.
