True.
Georgetown-
Nov 17 @ 3 Maryland
Nov 20 vs 17 Wisconsin
Nov 21 vs VCU/4 Duke

Georgetown may be able to go 2-1 and get in the poll. Going 1-2 with win over Wisconsin and losses to Maryland and Duke- that would be tough.

Speaking of the A-10, I'm surprised URI isn't at least getting votes. They will be a tough squad this year.

What do you expect with 9 new guys on the team? If they don't like it, they'll have their shot at becoming ranked by winning Maui.
Do I expect them to win it? Hell no, but there's their chance.

Durand, Ron, Amar, and Felix gotta play like their on a mission and the young guys gotta follow.

of course one thing that is the unspoken thing around here- the preseason polls are impacted considerably by past tourney experience. Nova probably should be higher than 9th. And I think if Georgetown had performed in the tourney better the last few years- we'd be ranked right now. And not just with us. I feel for instance Kansas and Virginia have better rosters than Duke- but Duke is rated higher than them- that's all tourney based. And folks talk about Wisconsin getting way too much respect. That's a lot tourney based as well...

LMAO!! Marquette with a powerful 1 vote (means one person ranked them #25) and Providence with a mighty 5 votes. If you include SMU and remove Tulsa (also with one vote) we are only down one! 4-3. HAHAHA.

Fail.

Those teams will finish fifth and sixth in our conference. I'd love to know who the AAC's fifth and sixth place teams will be this year.

Bearcat, weren't you banned from the other board (CSNbbs) for being pretty negative about the AAC? Glad to see you're more optimistic about the conference your school is in.

I'm as positive of an AAC fan as you'll have here- but this logic is 100% moronic. You can't include SMU. They're on probation and not eligible for the poll. You say it's not fair? Then tell Brown not to do the crime.

So at best it's 4-2. Not much difference there vs 6-3.

LMAO! The poll is supposed to be a representation of the top 25 teams. SMU is clearly one of the 25 best teams (at worst in the receiving votes part), so using the coaches poll is "100% moronic." That is why I used the CBS rankings of 1-351 because they include ALL teams, and there the AAC has MORE top 25 teams than the powerful Big East.

Top 25 is a dumb criteria quite frankly. NCAA tourney teams is a much more reasonable criteria. Big East will likely have at least 4 teams bare minimum- and are much more likely to have 6 teams than they are 4. At least prior to this year- can't have said that about the AAC. Now, if the AAC in basketball turns in a season like they've turned in for football- all bets are off- but that's gotta happen first.
