Even a few 5 star recruits. And 0 tourney wins. Yes we got ranked in 2011 and 2015 as low as #15, but it never actually got us anywhere. We had all the talent in the world, but something was missing. I'd just watch the games and something was off. Everything was disorganized and it wasn't team basketball. We had athletes and not basketball players. We had TERRIBLE shooters overall. I would go into games being nervous instead of excited. The opponent always seemed to have great shooters and torch us.

For the first time since Looie, it appears we may finally have all of these at the same time:

1. A coach who can recruit and develop players
2. Assistants who are some of the top in the country recruiting wise
3. A desire to really be NYC's team and keep the top area players home
4. Accountability
5. A culture that promotes tireless hard work and no nonsense
6. SHOOTERS! Everywhere!
7. Team basketball

When Mullin was hired, many questioned his recruiting ability, name recognition among recruits, whether NYC recruits would ever come home again, and if he could handle life as a head coach in general. So far, he has been a complete blessing along with his staff. He has totally silenced critics and the guy works and works and works. From speaking with local NYC area reporters, Lavin had easy practices, demanded very little, was very lax with behavior, and would be more readily seen in a 5 star Italian restaurant with his actress wife than in NYC gyms or on planes recruiting.

Could not be happier with our choice. To make things even crazier, we have now entered the Thon Maker sweepstakes. Of course we are unlikely to actually land him, but he does have a connection with Slice and has said he "cannot reiterate enough how much" he "loves NYC".

As an outsider, I had no idea what to think about the Mullin hire. For the Big East to thrive, I think St Johns has to thrive. Obviously there is so much "to be determined", but as an outsider, it really looks like it could not have started in a more positive way. Here's hoping the positive mojo continues for the Johnnies.

You and a handful of others on Redmen and Johnny Jungle are absolutely obsessed with me. 4 years ago I tried to buy a t-shirt on Johnny Jungle. I paid for it but the idiot Dave never sent it to me. When I was asking where it was (a month later) he said I was being disrespectful and it must have embarrassed him because I posted it on the board and didn't know how to message him directly. If you pay for a product and don't get it after a month, it's pretty understandable you'd be asking what happened. After waiting so long and him being so unprofessional I realized I didn't want him having any of my money and asked for a refund. He whined about that too. That's where all the medium shirt jokes came from. I also got into some debates on JJ and Redmen and was banned on both. Both sites feature the same 5 people who are 50 years old if not older who post on the forums. Only a few people are allowed to post...kinda defeats the purpose of a forum and it's a little weird. I still read the forums and they make a mention of me every few weeks...4 years later! And now you do too. A bit creepy, no?

First of all, I'm not even close to being obsessed with you. So, get over yourself. I find you to be kind of entertaining and a joke. I've never ever participated in the medium t-shirt discussion. I found you to be rather deplorable how you handled it, but I've never actually found many of the jokes towards you to be funny. A couple of people had some rather amusing satire concerning your medium t-shirt, but I never participated in it. You was not only disrespectful in how you handled it, but it also showed your insecurities and narcissism. That's nothing new coming from you. It may have been unprofessional in how Dave handled it, as he doesn't handle things correctly, either. But you didn't make matters better by the way you handled the situation.

You're actually not too bad when you're discussing a basketball game in particular. The problem with you is when you start discussing other things besides a game in particular. Unfortunately, there are going to be other things to discuss other than a regular basketball game. That's when you go off the rails, and become a relentless annoyance and stooge.

Keep spreading the lies concerning the boards. You can also keep believing you was banned because of the reasons you've presented. That's the furthest thing from the truth. Do you think you're the only person in their 20's on the Johnnies' message boards? Far from it. It's the convenient excuse for you. It's also part of your narcissistic behavior. There are posters in their 20's, 30's, and 40's on both boards. More than you want to acknowledge. You was banned because you're a jerk and a bigot. You have some serious issues, boss.

It's also funny how you crap on both boards, but continue to post on both of those mentioned boards. You do more than just read the boards. Both boards are intentionally set up to where you're not able to read all available information, unless you're a member. So, how can you read all the info, if you're not a member? I'm awaiting your lie that you're not a member nor posting on either board. You've attempted to post on both boards many times after being booted, so why would you now decide to not only become a member, but also post on either of them now? Moderators have banned you after noticing you attempting to log on with new screennames. They're just allowing your multiple monikers now, as they're tired of attempting to screen all of your screennames. Rest assure, they know you're on there. I can promise you they're aware of you lurking.

You should just come clean or continue to lie to others. The main person you're lying to is yourself.

"I will not take the bait." Um, about that...

But seriously, things are looking good right now for the future of the Johnnies. Let's see how Mullin is as an actual coach, but the recruiting side has been good. I've said all along that while Lavin gave mediocrity, Mullin will either be a great hire or a really bad hire. It's looking a little more like the former right now. Just a few more weeks until the start of the season to really find out!

Lovett still not cleared yet according to Zagoria and Goodman. Is there any real concern there?
