16. Creighton
32. Villanova
36. Butler
41. Xavier
53. Providence
54. Marquette
61. Georgetown
63. St. John's
95. Seton Hall
121. DePaul

Those seem pretty accurate to me so far. I like PC but they haven't really played anyone yet. I still think MQ, GTown and St John's are good teams but they have warts on the resume to start. DePaul and SHU look like they are going to struggle to compete but are not remotely like the dregs of the ACC/SEC.

Boy, that would be not great for us. Providence and Marquette at 53/54 probably would be out.

I'd say look at the ratings a week from Monday- after all the exempt tournaments are over. After that- most of the prime OOC action is done.

It's early, but I'd say it's accurate because Marquette has not looked good and PC hasn't beaten anybody. I think the long and short of it is that any of the top 8 teams are still well within reach of an NCAA bid right now - they just have to win some of these important non-conference games.

I think the reweight may have happened in Sagarin:

13 Villanova
25 Xavier
27 Creighton
56 Providence
60 St John's
67 Georgetown
70 Butler
92 DePaul
101 Seton Hall
108 Marquette

we're 3rd as a conference
1 Big Ten 84.53
2 Big 12 82.10
3 Big East 81.37
4 Pac 12 81.31
5 ACC 80.99
6 AAC 80.65
7 SEC 80.61
8 A10 78.81
9 MWC 78.28
10 WCC 77.38

seems just about right quite frankly. Big 12 helped by having # 1 Oklahoma St and #2 Kansas.

So Stever how does 3rd fit your narrative about how average/poor the BE has performed so far?

The gap between us and the Big 12 is .73
The gap between us and the SEC is .76

The gap between us and the Big Ten- 3.16
The gap between us and the MWC- 3.03

I'd say we have performed average at best so far. 1-4 top 50 games.

I guess my question for you/everyone. If you are content to be #3 right now, if it meets your expectations, what does that say about where your expectations were?

For this time of year my expectations were not bad, lot of ball to be played though. But again I'm stunned how little you talk about how the teams & players are actually playing in these games, like this is fantasy sports.

It's tough to glean anything from playing the tomato cans we are playing. We'll know a lot more in these next 10 days. I mean, tonight we'll learn a lot about Providence playing for one away from home for the 1st time. See if the Hall can do anything with Oklahoma.

Speak for yourself. Now I better understand why you're so ready to bail on Joshua Smith, you probably can't see his potential/development at this point. He's balling right now.

I'm sorry- but our 5 undefeated teams have played 5 of the worst 70 schedules so far in the country. I just want to see them against some forget good- but just decent competition away from home(only Creighton of those has done that- and it was a 4 pt win).

To me, that's very realistic. Big Ten I don't think anyone is touching. Big 12 might not be that deep- but having 2 of the top 6-7 teams in Kansas and Oklahoma St will make up for a lot of that. To me, Big East is fighting with Big 12, ACC, Pac 12, and even the AAC this year(I would have said the SEC but they look hideous this year). so 4th would be realistic even- right in the middle of those 4 conferences.
