Overall the players will balance out. Everyone will likely get the best player on each team, and it will likely be more about skill even in the non-conference. Good players are going to perform throughout the season, even if the competition is tough. It is possible that the teams with easier non-conferences may boost players stats, but conference will definitely even the playing field, especially since this seems like it would be h2h.

If nothing else, it's just something to think about when picking your team. Just another level or strategy.

I'll play if it's the Big East plus future member UConn.

Just my opinion--
You could have Head-to-Head per category. Each week opponents fight over the eight categories. If a team wins 6 of the 8 categories, they'd go 6-2 in the standings for that week. The categories could be FG%, FT%, 3-Pointers-Made, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocks, and Points.
Rosters can have 10 active spots and 4 bench slots. Positions of PG, SG, SF, PF, C, and 5 "utility" spots at any position. I think the college hoops season is 17 weeks, so u could have an 18 team league, everyone plays each other once. 17 weeks x 8 categories is 136 W-L decisions for the season. Or divisions, etc.
At 18 teams, the "Universe" would have to be the Big East plus 3 other conferences... maybe the A-10 and MVC and Big Ten and Metro Atlantic...
Lots of possibilities. Good luck!
