One Big East team plays tonight...

Wednesday November 7th 2018:

Bethune-Cookman at DePaul, 7:30pm, FS1.

Cain and Strus are outstanding seniors. Paul Reed is underappreciated and talented in the frontcourt. Some young talent has arrived. We need Leitao to run an offense, and have 40 minutes of concentration on defense. If DePaul can just play solid ball, nothing earth-shattering, then the entire conference will jump to the next level.

I'm thinking DePaul wins both halves by 8, and leaves Wintrust with a 16-point W. C'mon Blue Demons, you have the stage to yourself tonight...!

DePaul has yet to have a respectable OOC, tough when the season ends within the first couple weeks every year. SJU has been like that for a few years during the new Big East as well and it's no fun.

Hopefully this is the year.

Does everyone have their popcorn popped, and their lemonade poured, and have you fed the cat yet? Only 24 minutes til tip-off on FS1 in high-definition, from Second City.

Opponent is Bethune-Cookman, an HBCU school in in the MEAC from Daytona, which i drove near years ago and wanted to stop and visit, but we were running late and couldn't delay ourselves after hitting traffic in Cocoa Beach.

Yesterday was a lot of fun with all the Big East action but it will be nice to only have to pay attention to a couple of games. Side note, Bethune-Cookman is in Milwaukee on Saturday so I'll be interested to check out both teams, even if BC shouldn't be much of a challenge.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

DePaul gets the win, 80-58.

The first 10 minutes they were completely out of whack, down 22-17. Gage was in foul trouble at PG and sat. Then DePaul switched to zone, caused BCU to panic... Strus hit a couple of threes and Butz had a couple of putbacks, and the lead jumped to double-digits at the half.

Second half Paul Reed got active with a couple of dunks, and a lot of Demons got involved. They seem to have some depth. Coleman-Lands drilled a three. Cameron from New Zealand saw action. Olujobi the big man from NC A&T looked solid enough.

They kind of i guess run like a Motion offense. They often take silly shots. They move a lot on offense. But great to see them win big. They could beat Penn State and Boston College. They have some talent. They just need to play with confidence. With Cain and Strus i think they have a chance to pull off some wins.
