Credit to Friar Basketball.com:

"The first Ed Cooley show of the new season will be broadcast Monday night between 7:00pm and 8:00pm on WEEI 103.7. Guests include new Big East Commissioner Val Ackerman and PC Director of Player Operations Mike Jackson. There will also be an important update on the new basketball practice facility."

Article from the interview. I wonder which conference has asked Ackerman about creating a scheduling partnership for nonconference games.

IIRC, it was the B1G that was putting out feelers for a partnership w/the BE.

That would be about ideal. We already play Wisconsin every year. There are pretty decent pairings in a lot of areas (MU-UW, Butler-IU, DePaul-Northwestern, Creighton-Nebraska, Georgetown-Maryland). Plus, you guys could get back to playing your "traditional rivals" Rutgers (I jest :D )
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

According to the PC message board, the interview on WEEI included:
[note that Val-Ack said that multiple big conferences have contacted her about a challenge series]

1. Cooley has lost 65 pounds since the end of the season. talked about all the Friars have had a great off season. wants to see the Dunk sold out for BC etc...

2. Val Ackerman was on. She talked in general terms about how important PC is, the legacy of Dave Gavitt she has to uphold, how important Fox Sports 1 is to the Big East. One thing that peaked my curiosity was she said that multiple big conferences have contacted her about doing a challenge series. could definitely be a boost to the schedule going forward.

3. PC's CFO (Sweeney) was on saying that the new basketball practice facility is now officially in the planning stage and the a NYC firm has been hired to be in charge of the planning (what is needed and what is going to be in the facility) and they will be on campus starting Sept 18th. Typically a project at PC goes through 3 months on planning, 9 months of design, and 12 months of construction so you are looking at a new practice facility in 2 years, depending on funding

4. Mike Jackson talked about conditioning and working with Kenny White to make sure the kids are all doing there programs. Cooley interjected and said they recently chose uniform type and they all wanted the tight fitting shirts to show off their great physiques. Jackson also talked about how this is a busy time for him with the schedule out setting up all travel and lodging. Also closed with how much he loved working for Cooley.

No link that's why I said IIRC. Someone can track it down but it was about a month ago and it was the B1G commish.
