Is anyone really surprised? As long as you are a UNC, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, etc., you are exempt from major penalties because you make the NCAA so much $$$.

However, this is far from over. These schools can get into bed with the NCAA, but they can't do the same against the FBI. That will be the scandal that will not be driven by agendas or money - and there is absolutely no way that UNC was innocent in that regard either.

It also makes Nova's win over them in the NC two years ago that much more impactful and rewarding. You can beat the cheaters playing by the rules and doing things the right way. We all are aspiring to follow that same model.

Looking at UNC, the answer is Yes.
What a joke.

Well UL will probably be a top 10 team this season and UNC went untouched. Even after the whole hooker thing UL only got banned from the tournament for 1 year.

...evidently cheating pays off for the Tarheels. Sad day in Collegiate Sports.

A very sad day for college basketball. The FBI looks brilliant for not providing a heads-up to the NCAA during their investigation, and not relying on partnering with them. I trust the NCAA does not line their pockets- but otherwise a striking similarity with 2 other powerful sports bureaucracies without values- The International Olympic Committee and FIFA.

It's too much to wish for, but wouldn't it be grand if the FBI actually is monitoring the NCAA's activities for collusion, etc. Either way, the NCAA looks ridiculous in all this.

And cheating? No way. Is it worth it? Hell, no.
