I agree. I don't expect Xavier to reveal his new salary details, but for the sake of Chris Mack and his family, I hope that Mack is no longer the most underpaid coach in NCAA Division I. Mack's current market value is easily in the range of the $3M/year that Shaka Smart and Gregg Marshall are getting.

I have no idea where USAToday get their numbers, but they are seriously either wrong or misleading. According to publically available IRS-990 documents for Xavier, Mack had total compensation of $1.67M for the 2015-2016 season. And this may not be all of what Mack receives because it is limited to what he gets through Xavier. If the total Mack receives is less than $2M, I agree that he is still underpaid. But his compensation ain't what is suggested in USAToday.
