Usually yes, but there are a few exceptions excepted on a case by case basis by the NCAA. Usually related to family issues and leaving a previous team's which is noted to have a toxic situation.

used to be that way, but they closed that loophole up a few years ago. don't think there's been any exceptions since they did that.

This is such a bizarre scenario. From what I've heard, both coaching staffs are staying mum on the topic, but now Thompson has reportedly enrolled at SHU. And of course, among all the confusion, bitter Cuse fans are hurling accusations of rules violations at SHU.

F-in Syracuse stole Chukwu supposedly by paying some handler off, so f-ck them about losing Thompson to The Hall.

This would be a perfect year for Syracuse to go like 9-21 and watch the Orange fans' reactions, Boeheim leaving, and another BC-Pitt type situation of perpetual suckitude lurks in their future.
