Remember that Creighton was picked to finish ninth in the Big East. No doubt the noncon schedule was put together because the team was expected to struggle. Truth is, we are further along than anyone, including most Creighton fans other than gtmo, expected at this point.

NovaBall, all year you have been telling us how much Creighton sucks and doesn't stand a chance and that any win by Creighton is horrible for the conference. Since you can't figure it out in your own, just stick with your season long drum beat telling us how bad it will be for the conference if Creighton wins this game as you have for just about every other Creighton game. Creighton didn't screw up its Noncon. Creighton put together the noncon because they were coming into this season with an entirely new lineup, most of whom had not played meaningful Big East minutes before, let alone together as a team. Creighton coaches knew they would need time to learn how to play together and how to win at this level. It was always going to be a work in progress with hopes that the team would jell by conference season. There were some early season stumbles as they figured things out together, but Coach's approach is apparently working as this team is far exceeding expectations to this point. Playing a strong OCC SOS would most likely have meant more OCC losses and could have killed any chance of building the team, and we wouldn't be any better off than now -- most likely worse.

I think you can say that same thing about other teams as well. PC, Seton Hall, Marquette all in the same boat. They didn't screw up their non con- BUT- because the team developed quicker than expected- they could pay for it.

I wonder if we may see more and more coaches using a situation where instead of a bye late in the season schedule a good OOC game. Imagine Creighton instead of one of the cupcakes earlier getting a top 100 team OOC right now. Could make all the difference in the world in them getting a bid.

Creighton bare minimum needs to get to 11 conference wins... If they lose here, they need 3 wins out of last 4- Marquette, St John's, @ PC, and @ X. Quite frankly, they probably need 4 wins- as 3 wins gets the RPI to only 69.9.
Butler needs 3 more wins. lose here, they need 3 wins out of last 4- @ Nova, @ Georgetown, Seton Hall, Marquette

Since the Steverrrr didn't use his signature word in this post I will lend an Assist.

If this is truly an elimination game, "sorry" to see Butler's season end so soon...they really had a lot of potential and a great non-con season (in terms of wins).
Hopefully they can get the requisite wins out of their last 4 games. ;)

We shall see, but It isn't an end to the season, just makes the path to the tourney really tough, to almost out of reach. Just don't come on here crying Tuesday when it doesn't come out like you want.

Jays are in the middle of a good winning run. Butler will need to play their Best Game of the season...in order to win tonite. Jays by 7.

Agree w HoosierPal that Butler needs to beat 'Nova...as the rest of us don't move the needle enough-if at all.
Where Is my pal, friend, buddy NovaBall? C'mon out n play Ball.
