Not 100% sure, but I think X has the most NCAA Tourney wins of any team that has not yet reached a final four

Looks like they might be tied for second in appearances without one, at least.

There is such parity this year, I think there are probably atleast 12 teams who can probably make the Final Four.

Not 100% positive, but I don't believe Creighton has. No disrespect meant by this, but I don't ever remember them making it past the Round of 32. But I am age 29, so perhaps they made some noise in the 70's/early 80's...?

That's true, we've made the sweet 16 before but that was before the current NCAA format. We have only made the round of 32 since.

It's funny, looking at all the Big East teams and what they have done in the tournament in the last decade, besides Butler, Villanova has BY FAR the most impressive resume in March, and people still make comments. It is laughable. Regardless, the new Big East still needs to step up in March and nobody has done that yet. Hopefully this is the year.

Don't know why you brought this up, not really nessecary, but for nova it's more about the tournament success in the new big east. They've won 1 or 2 games, but fans of the big east conference know they are capable of so much more so they are disappointed.

I know now I will get an onslaught of posts from Villanova fans saying "well, St. John's disappointed us by sucking for 15 years!" Ok, I understand, but I still think nova can do so much more in March

I seriously don't get how you can make a judgement on the Villanova program based off the last two tournaments. Yea we're all disappointed but let's not forget we lost to a severely underseeded uconn team who won the national championship in year 1. Year 2 was a flat out choke but that nc state team was also one of the few teams that beat the national champs last year so everyone knew the upset potential was there. Speaking of Duke - and this is where I'm going with this - from 05-09, they missed out on the elite 8 all 5 years before winning the national championship in 2010. Following that national championship they took embarrassing losses to 15 seeds Lehigh and Mercer before finally getting back and winning again last year. My point is if you keep recruiting at a high level and consistently win and earn high seeds, the runs will come in March but you have to be patient as upsets will always happen. Duke is just proof that a two year sample size is bullsh*t. How many teams in last year's "loaded" Big 12 got out of the first weekend last year again?

Side note - as of 2009 Villanova has the most wins against teams seeded higher than them in tournament history. I didn't realize a team that "chokes every year" could hold that record. The popular narrative is bullsh-- and I can't even enjoy the f*cking regular season anymore thanks to it.
