Providence doesn't have to worry about being solidly in the tournament this year. Their biggest worry is Dunn and Bentil going pro at the end of this year.

I would not be surprised to hear that rutgers is interested in Cooley. I have actually heard his name pop up from some rutgers fans. But Ed would be foolish to go to Rutgers. He loves Providence, and PC is paying him well.

false rumors of cooley to rutgers, carlesimo to seton hall, and josh hart as BE poy have one thing in common... that they were all ideas hatched in your head.

and i can't keep track, but i thought you submitted a one-sentence thread saying cooley was going to rutgers, but the thread was disapproved i think. either here or on the friars board you posted about it..

To be fair, josh Hart for POTY was gaining traction in the media this week, and then Dunn stole the show Sunday. The rest is just vintage overexcited ball.

I agree

Those "experts" who were placing providence in the 8-12 seed range will be doing so no longer!!

They now have three wins over teams ranked in the top ten at the time, correct? None at home. Arizona (n), at butler and at nova. That's real solid.

Gr8 job Friars.

As a fan of Xavier and the Big East, that was a fantastic, entertaining basketball game on a big national over the air broadcast stage in a time slot that didn't have NFL competition and on a day where many just casual sports followers were snowed in looking for something to watch. Props to both teams for putting on a great show. These are the types of games that add one more brick to the wall of the league reputation rebuild from the realignment.

Fox has to be pleased with yesterday...only thing that would have been better is if Gus Johnson and Bill Raftery were on the call.

Well done, all.

Ed Cooley is a Providence kid, born and bred. Coaching the Friars is his dream job. And after what he's done there already, he's their dream coach.

Cooley and PC go together like Looie and St. John's. It's a marriage made in heaven. The idea that he would leave Providence for a loser program like Rutgers is laughable. If there actually is such a rumor, it's simply Rutgers fans dreaming because their program has sunk so low and they have become so desperate.

Why is that a worry?

If you read every one of Ball's posts in comic sans font (AKA sarcastically) it will all make much more sense. Nobody can actually think he's being serious and is that delusional right? He's the definition of a troll and is waiting for everyone else to be in on the joke. Both the Nova and PC boards agree. That was made very clear over the last week.
