Pirates fans?

The only public explanation Willard ever gave was that those guys simply didn't have it that day so he decided to see what some other guys could do. He claims it that's all it was, nothing to do with disciplinary issues. I find that a bit hard to believe considering they cut the deficit to (I think) 12 roughly midway through the 2nd. At that point, they had a chance to get back in the game by putting their best guys on the floor and he opted not to.

Lame. Pats have been winning for over a decade. PC hasn't been ranked this high since short-shorts were on the court.

Just tell them the PC game will be played with regulation untampered basketballs, that will get them.

i will be there. I couldnt get the tickets i wanted either. Bought them almost 2 weeks ago and the Dunk was close to a sellout. maybe we'll be able to move to better seats!

I'm hoping all tickets find the hands of fans who will be there. Let's hope (for the good of the team) you're not able to move down too close ;)

This seems to be upset week, so I won't put any money on any of these games this weekend. Guess its because its the thick of the season, but I wouldn't be surprised by any results on Saturday.

Well... If the X and Nova win this weekend they should #3 and #4 respectively. It's getting better and better for the B.E
Stony Brook Red, Connecticut Blue, and Big East basketball!

I heard that the players were tired after the Nova game-really hard to believe.

I truly believe the way to defend Nova is to keep in front of them. Don't take the pump fake at the three point line. They are living on a reputation of being great outside shooters, and everyone seems so concerned about chasing them off the three point line. But, Hart is shooting 31% in conference, Ryan A. is shooting 35.5%, Jenkins is 36% and Booth is 39%. No one is over 36% on the full year. As a team, they are shooting 34.7% in conference and 31% on the year. Not exactly lighting it up. On the other hand, I think they are around 60% from two (thanks in no small part to Creighton). Yet, I see defenders constantly close out hard and not under control on a pass to the wing and/or take the pump fake at the three point line over and over -- allowing Nova to put the ball on the floor and go by the defender. Once that happens, its almost automatically two. Nova is so good at finding the open guy for a dump-off bunny when help defense has to rotate in or getting to the rim or pull up 10 footers or less if help side defense is slow, that they get easy shots. I thought MU did a good job of staying in front of Nova through much of the game, but lapsed in to over committing on the outside shot fakes after Nova hit a couple of outside shots. Teams need to maintain discipline. Nova might get hot in a game and beat you from the outside. But, I think at his point you have to play the averages and make them beat you from the outside. Not saying don't get a hand up. But defenders have to close out under control and for goodness sake, don't take the pump fake.
