I have to laugh a bit at the comments on who to punish and who not to play. On one side, schools have an arrogance not to play schools from the A10 (such as X vs Dayton). On the other, boycott Cuse. Next, don't play anyone that has an FBS team.

With Cuse, there is a benefit for Nova. And one for Cuse. So play.

For Nova, No benefit to playing Pitt or WVU so don't play.

For Cuse, no benefit to playing Prov, so don't play...

Nova would be wise to keep a yearly game with Cuse. And add Louisville and UConn as well.

I would just say that if you are a competitive program and you know that by letting the wolf into your own den it's going to eventually burn you, maybe you think about keeping him out (at least right away). Nova could always call up UNC, Kentucky, Kansas, Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, Mich State, Indiana, L'ville, UConn, (and probably 4 or 5 others) and get a home and home that would benefit them as much as the Syracuse games would. So whatever benefit Syr provides, can be easily replaced.

Why make it easier for a competitor who has absolutely shared the exact same recruiting areas as you for years, and whom you have battled for individual players almost every year? This is a buisness. Case in point Nova was supposedly Tyler Roberson's 2nd choice to Syracuse last year. In the future I want Nova to have any possible advantage that they can sell to kids considering both schools. I don't think that makes us cowards, or anything, other than smart. Anyway no active coach has had more success vs. Syracuse than Jay. Boeheim has a losing record vs Nova since Wright took over. He knows how to pick that 2-3 apart.

Roberson... Cuse or Nova? Suspect transcripts and over 6-8. Should be no surprise he went to Cuse.

Cuse will successfully recruit Philly whether Nova plays them or not. I'm not sure Nova has the ability to pick-up the phone and schedule UNC, Duke, etc for a home and home. We couldn't even manage to accept an invitation to move up in football, when we wanted to, so you can never assume too much from our AD.

Instead of trying to recreate the past, BE teams need to be concerned w/fostering new or deeper rivalries like:

1) SJU vs. SHU (Isaiah Whitehead should spice this one up)
2) Butler vs. X (they are battling on the recruiting trail already)
3) Hoyas vs. Marquette (East vs Midwest)
4) SJU vs. Nova (NY vs. Philly)
5) Nova vs. Hoyas (much potential here)
6) Creighton vs. Marq (Potential best in the midwest title)

What about DePaul and Providence? No value in a DePaul v Providence matchup?

When was the last time Syracuse did not play an OOC game in NYC??

If they want to play in NYC and Saint John's doesn't want to play them, then they'll just play somebody else. Like Temple as they did a year ago. Or, in the NIT, or CBE, or Legends Classic, or any of the other numerous exempt tournaments that are played in NYC.

So, those teams might as well play them. They're really not denying Syracuse anything by not playing them.

BTW, didn't Syracuse and Georgetown just agree to a ten year deal starting in 15-16??
