Midnight Madness 2022

Postby FenwayFriar » Thu Sep 08, 2022 12:21 pm

I know there isn't really a "Midnight" Madness anymore, but PC has announced their "Late Night" Madness for Saturday, October 1 coinciding with our Homecoming Weekend. They'll be doing the normal pep rally type stuff, followed by a concert by Khalid. Seems to be a good get judging by student response; he's a top-3 most streamed artist in the world on Spotify. It's being held back at The Dunk (AMP) for the first time since 2019 pre-pandemic, when they had John Legend perform. Just happy that these types of events are back under normal circumstances!

Any other schools announce theirs yet?

Creighton has an NIL event like they did last year, is that NIL at PC as well? I think it was a lot of kids and autographs and during the day but I like the concert and more of the entertainment aspect…

If it’s like last year, Creighton’s will be a heavily sponsored event designed to provide NIL dollars to players rather than a pure fan event. I’m okay with that.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

To my knowledge PC isn't doing anything related to NIL, going to be more of a traditional midnight madness event with concert, team intros, etc. It's coinciding with homecoming weekend, so aiming to be more of a night out on the town. PC has taken the event pretty seriously since Rick Pitino started it at the school in 1985. We've had a lot of A-list emcees and performers over the years. But seems like a good thing going at Creighton relating to NIL, in this day and age an athletic department has to do everything they can to keep up with the joneses.

Sounds like John Fanta will be hosting this event in Omaha.
