So what you're say'in is that Cooley is making a lot of cash...
Cooley $2.6 Mill a year. Seems that perhaps Cooley is overpaid.

Con: Cooley Has A Losing Record In Big East Conference Games

Ed Cooley has been at Providence since 2011 and has gone 71-73 in Big East play during that time. I always say that a coach’s record in conference play is the best determinant of how good they really are; the NCAA Tournament is a crapshoot with a small sample size, and non-conference schedules are not all created equal. In theory, a conference is full of peer schools. Against his peers in the Big East, Ed Cooley is only average.

;) Yep if I were a Nova fan, I'd be happy to see Ed and the rest stay in conference.

And yet 9-6 vs Creighton since this new conf was formed. Hmmm....
Go Nova!

ha ha. Gumby, my man. Gotta get up awfully early to put one over on you. Fact is that we have another of those average coaches.
Our guy is 56-52 since joining the BE. You know it's Nova and the dwarfs...we're part of the "beat each other up" group.
I'm praying for rain and a new coach.

That article on Cooley is good. I love the pro n cons. Shows some of the obstacles in the selection process. Kid had whittled the list down
to 20 "realistic" possibilities for UM. Cooley is raking cake at Prov, with a lot less pressure to produce. Good move to stay put.

Sounds like Juwan Howard is getting the job. No head coaching experience in college or pro basketball, so it's not hard to make a comparison to Georgetown hiring Ewing.

After seeing what Penny has done recruiting wise, they are probably hoping for the same.

Eh, he has a pretty good reputation in the NBA. Penny is a unique, not reproducible situation.

The Big East isn't going anywhere.

Last year the mid-west coaches bounced, this year the east coast coaches stayed.

Only one of them bounced and wojo and McDermott turned down multiple offers. Should probably be noted that the midwestern coaches have also been more successful than the eastern coaches with the exception of jay wright and thus receive more serious interest from bigger programs.

The Butler coach and Xavier coach both left after last year. If you take out Wright then also take out Mack and the two sides look a lot alike with the advantage tilting to the east. Seton Hall>Butler, PC > Creighton, Marquette > GTown, SJU > DePaul
