Unbelievable stats tonight. In addition to the 23 points, he had 11 rebounds, four assists, no turnovers, 1 steal, 1 block. Might be the most underrated player on the team.

Johnnies appear to have 3 superstar players who can take over the game at any point- Ponds, Heron and LJ. Ponds only scored 8 last night, but Heron and LJ combined for 50. Ponds caused some disruption while LJ dominated the first half and Heron the second. Obviously we didn't have that last year. 1st half of last year some of us hyped up the Ponds/LoVett/Simon trio (Simon still with the team and playing well), but even at their peak this year's trio is clearly better.

Ponds picked a bad game to turn into a facilitator...I needed him to go off yesterday. With the bad game from Nova, Ponds' taking the day off from scoring has put a big crimp in my fantasy league production.
Ol' git is gonna take a big hit this week in the BE league. All my star players went on strike: Ponds, Booth, Bey. Even my support guys slacked off- Samuels, Mourning...what a sh_tty week. ;)

With non-con tourneys this week going with the Creighton group and Tyreke...along with Booth and Ponds. Hopefully things get back on track...SOON. :(

Sorry Git! I’m hoping Ponds goes off on Monday and Tuesday to help your team (and of course notch 2 more wins for the Johnnies).

PS: Figueroa is an impressive player. JUCO AA and a scorer. Tried to land him in the draft, then tried to trade for him...no go.

Don't know how someone can watch St. John's tonight and not think that they've got the best roster in the Big East.… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

Let the Johnnies win a few more games before donning them the BE's best. This is new territory for a Mullin squad. They need to do it consistently for a month or two before calling them the best

That was Rothstein's tweet I posted.

Though Ponds, Heron, and LJ can take over a game at anytime, Simon (last year when Ponds was hurt), can also.

Like I said, this is new for Mullin and crew. Talented this year but they need to keep winning and back up the hype.
