While it obviously makes us all take a little more of the blanket at night when we have a margin of victory over a mid-major of four or so, we should not put too much stock in it at this point. Instead, we should focus on the fact that the games have been won and the manner in which the Big East team,s handled early adversity. That is what these games are for. Take St. John's since I watched the whole game. Ponds was having a horrible half and he was having some issue with cramping. Keita left the game after five minutes and then BG just started raining threes on them. At 16 minutes left in the second half Johnnies down 11 with seemingly no light at the end of the tunnel. But they adjusted, Ponds came back in to the game mid second half and defense got better. Past SJU teams don't come back from 11 down second half. But, they were able to do so. If not for a number of missed free throws done the stretch, they would have won by at least nine. Better they see that they need to be consistent regardless of if they are playing Villanova or Bowling Green, and that they have the talent to overcome a double digit deficit. That is what these games are for. So just keep playing and winning and when the losses come - and they will - we'll deal with it. We are a top five conference at this point and will be by the end of the season.
